Eamonn Holmes sparks backlash over shameful meet and greet prices

Eamonn Holmes says Lucy Letby has ‘forfeited’ any human rights

Eamonn Holmes’ meet and greet prices have been branded both “shameful” and “absolutely hilarious” after some fans ranted about the “exorbitant” cost of a one-to-one meeting with the presenter.

The 63-year-old’s UK-wide tour kicks off this October in Glasgow featuring a “tell-all” Q&A, during which followers will hear him delve into his past live onstage.

He’s certainly had a dramatic life, from growing up in Belfast in the midst of the infamous Troubles, to getting a foot on the ladder in the world of TV, and hosting events for the royals.

However, some have been left open-mouthed by the cost of his pre and post-show meet and greets, which – at £80 – are more than double the £35 cost of the show.

Some frustrated fans gathered on social media to deliver a message in no uncertain terms, with one fuming: “On yer bike, Eamonn!”

One follower took to Twitter (X) to fume: “These celebrities get paid enough, they should pay to shake the hand of the people that made them, watched them and listened to them to make them what/who they are today.”

“Absolutely hilarious,” another person ranted.

“If you do pay £80 to meet him, wow what a waste. Think what you could’ve bought,” they added.

“Any star who asks for payment to meet their fans should be ashamed. If no one paid, they wouldn’t charge,” chimed in a third.

Meanwhile, a fourth indignantly added: “I like Eamonn, but I wouldn’t pay to meet him, he’s minted and I’m skint lol – on yer bike, Eamonn!”

Meanwhile, another was equally deterred by the price, declaring: “That’s exorbitant. I’ll pass.”

Express.co.uk has contacted Eamonn’s representatives for comment.

The This Morning host turned GB News star has been keenly promoting the events on his social media accounts this week.

“I’ve been asking the questions for 43 years, now I’m answering them on stage,” he explained.

“The first venue is The Eastwood Park Theatre Glasgow on Wednesday 18 October. If you’re in the area and fancy a night of stories and laughs why don’t you join me?”

The venue has released a statement about its collaboration with the newsreader, writing: “We’ve woken up to Eamonn Holmes breaking the news for decades. But what’s the personal story behind Britain’s favourite Breakfast TV anchor?

“From growing up in troubled Belfast to breaking into TV, to hosting Royal events, Eamonn lifts the lid on his life in the limelight.

“The big interviews, the scary moments and oh yes, the controversies. Interviewed in depth by long-term friend and fellow broadcaster Bill McFarlan, Eamonn tells it as it is for one night only.”
