After unveiling a NASA-themed timepiece, independent watch brand, Awake is gearing up to reveal its latest offering. This time, the horologer is releasing a limited-edition model to the public that was originally only dedicated to the French Special Forces of the CCT FS (Compagnie de Commandement ET de Transmissions Des Forces Spéciales).
As the timekeeper is designed to don the wrists of Special Forces unit officers, functionality, comfort, and reliability are taken into consideration in its conceptualization. Composed of recycled titanium, the AWAKE CCT FS watch is not only lightweight and durable, it’s completed with a black sandblasted PVD coating that helps to diminish light reflections. This is fitted with a screw-down crown that ensures a secured resistance underwater and is capable of withstanding up to 10 ATM.
The dial features a fine-grained texture, arriving in a discreet black hue, while raised and applied indices are implemented to reduce reflections. Its sword-shaped hands are lume-filled to ensure legibility even in low-light conditions.
As for movement, the watch runs on the reliable Miyota 9039 caliber, which provides up to 42 hours of power reserve. The timepiece is complete with a durable and lightweight Biopoly strap, and an additional strap made from NATO.
50 examples of the timepiece are offered for public purchase, each retailing €990 EUR (approximately $1,049 USD). Currently, Awake has opened its members-only pre-sale access for the watch, alternatively, those who are interested can wait until October 27, 2 p.m. CEST/8 a.m. EDT for its official release. Deliveries are expected to begin starting at the end of November 2023.
In case you missed it, A. Lange & Söhne’s Zeitwerk Minute Repeater now arrives in a HONEYGOLD® watch case.
