Ulrika Jonsson makes cheeky remark as she laughs with King Charles in old snap

Ulrika Jonsson couldn't resist making a cheeky remark about King Charles in honour of his birthday.

The former Gladiators presenter, 56, was amongst the famous faces who paid tribute to the monarch as he celebrated his 75th birthday on Tuesday (November 14). Taking to Instagram with a throwback snap, the TV star could be seen having a laugh with the King, who back then was referred to as Prince Charles.

Ulrika was part of a celebrity line-up who met the King after the the 77th Royal Variety Performance at London’s Lyceum Theatre, which also included Spice Girls star Melanie C. It comes after the former model opened up about her struggles with breathing after breaking her rib last month. Updating her 202,000 followers on her Instagram Story, Ulrika penned: "Turns out: broken/ bruised rib is also s**t for trying to sleep on (as well as breathing and generally trying to function).

"Not my first broken rib rodeo, I might add." She has been open about her health battles in the past, detailing how she was combatting bouts of arthritis.

The mum-of-four told Daily Mail: "If I've spent two or three hours in a car getting into London it's pretty tough. It's like your hips seize and you have flashes of moments when you think, 'I can't move'."

Arthritis is common among people who are mid-40s and older and causes pain and joint inflammation. Ulrika revealed that the condition also affects intimacy.

In 2022, she told The Sun: "I’m not in a relationship – when I was married, I mean sleeping next to someone is not ideal if you’re awake or if you’re in pain. It’s bound to affect relationships and people around you and your ability to be intimate maybe."

The former weather presenter revealed how the "debilitating" pain often leaves her feeling "miserable" and that sleepless nights can give her "brain fog". Explaining how she handles the condition, she told the publication: "I do laugh and joke about it, if it takes me a while to get out of a chair, I will say ‘oh, here’s the arthritis again’ and I think maybe people think I’m joking and just taking the mickey but it’s actually real and happening.

"It’s a huge part of what I am." The Celebs Go Dating star has had the condition since childhood but manages it the best she can.
